Shaheen Air Cargo is the fast growing division of Shaheen Air International that was established in 1993, soon after the inception of the airline.

General Cargo
All types of general cargo like garments, textiles, spare parts, computer chips, electronic items, foodstuff etc can be sent as general cargo. We provide personalized service and security escorts for handling certain type of general cargo.

Perishable Cargo
Items such as fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, fish and flowers go under perishable cargo. Management of transit times and temperatures are crucial to perishable cargo, however we ensure that perishables arrive on time and in good condition.

Live Animals
Shaheen Air Cargo undertakes transportation of live animals ranging from cats and dogs to parrots and pigeons. Live cargo shipments demand high levels of care and attention. Time, conditions and security are all momentous in ensuring the safe arrival of such priceless creatures.

Shaheen Air International






Shaheen Air International is a private airline that provides passenger, cargo, and charter services. Its wings are spread to the major cities of Pakistan and Gulf by providing unmatched services to its valued customers. It was established in December 1993 and soon after its inception, on account of its professional service, exceptional performance, customer support and expertise in aviation, on October 25, 1994, it was accorded the status of 'Second National Carrier of Pakistan', by the Government of Pakistan.

All Aegean business class passengers, as well as the holders of the Miles&Bonus gold card, are welcome to enjoy the special amenities of the Lounge.

The Aegean Club Lounge has been designed to offer a perfect combination of aesthetics and efficiency, operating smoothly in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Before boarding, you can enjoy a coffee or a snack from the buffet – with specially designated areas for smokers and non-smokers.

The Club Lounge also has a special area for urgent phone calls, as well as computers with internet access. Passengers can also use their own laptops, plugging into one of the many sockets provided. Finally, in the reception area, you will find special lockers where you can leave your personal items in absolute security.

Charter Services






Aegean Airlines Charter department is responsible for chartering airplanes to Travel Agencies, Tour Operators and prestigious Companies -for their business travel- within Europe and Greece.

For the last 6 years there are four dedicated BOEING 737-400 with 168 seats which are performing series of charter flights to Italy, France, Germany, Austria, United Kingdom, Poland, Slovenia, Israel, Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium, Romania and Czech Republic in cooperation with major Tour Operators of relevant countries.

Ad-hoc flights are operated upon aircraft availability.
All Charter requests are received via e-mail or fax. Corresponding reply is sent within 72 hours.

There is a steady and remarkable increase of charter operations every year which is a result of the efficiency and reliability that Aegean Airlines offers to its clients.

Cargo Services





The Aegean Airlines Cargo department was set up in 2001 when Cronus Airlines merged with Aegean. It now operates across the whole of the company’s network, offering airport-to-airport services for freight carriers, import/export companies, postal and courier firms and private individuals needing to transport items by freight.

All the department’s operations are focused on immediate service for our customers. The exceptional on-time performance levels of the company’s network, and the way freight bookings are handled, both allow us to provide an immediate response to more than 95% of customer’s freight requests (Fly as Booked) on a daily basis.

The Athens Cargo department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, processing phone bookings and taking delivery of cargo consignments for all destinations in the company’s network.

Operating 24 hours a day the department is able to move all consignments using the very next flight to the final destination, avoiding delays to those forms of cargo subject to spoiling.

Ιf tickets are purchased through our reservations department or airport offices in Greece, a service charge of €14 for domestic flights and €20 for international flights will be charged (per ticket). For tickets purchased through our international offices, the following charges will apply: Germany - €20, Italy - €20, Cyprus - €17, Bulgaria - €15, Romania - €25, Egypt - 200 EGP for economy class tickets and 200 EGP for business class tickets. For tickets purchased through our website, a service fee of €6 per passenger is applied.

When refund of either fare or taxes occurs, then a refund fee of €14 for domestic flights & €20 for international flights will be charged.

If a passenger fails to occupy reserved space, the carrier will cancel all other reservations held by such passenger for continuing or return space. Carriers are not liable for such cancellation, but will refund in accordance with Voluntary Refund provisions (IATA Passenger Air Tariff regulation, chapter 8, paragraph 12).

Tickets are personal and not transferable. Names on tickets may under no circumstances be altered (IATA Passenger Air Tariff regulation, Part 1, chapter 13.2, paragraph 13.2.2).

Birth of a Nation, Birth of an Airline
Air transport has probably never been more important to the development of a new nation than in the case of Pakistan. In June 1946, when Pakistan was still in the offing, Mr. Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the Founder of the upcoming nation, instructed Mr. M.A. Ispahani, a leading industrialist, to set up a national airline, on a priority basis. With his singular vision and foresight, Mr. Jinnah realized that with the formation of the two wings of Pakistan, separated by 1100 miles, a swift and efficient mode of transport was imperative.

Orient Airways Takes to the Skies
On 23rd October 1946, a new airline was born. Initially registered as a pilot project in Calcutta, Orient Airways Ltd. had at its helm Mr. M.A. Ispahani as Chairman and Air Vice Marshal O.K. Carter as General Manager. The new carrier's base remained in Calcutta and an operating license was obtained in May 1947.

Four Douglas DC-3s were purchased from Tempo of Texas in February 1947 and operations commenced on 4th June 1947. The designated route for Orient Airways was Calcutta-Akyab-Rangoon, which also happened to be the first post-war international sector to be flown by an airline registered in India. Within two months of Orient Airways' operational beginnings, Pakistan was born. The birth of a new nation generated one of the largest transfers of population in the history of mankind.

Orient Airways, along with the help of BOAC aircraft which had been chartered by the Government of Pakistan, started relief operations and transportation of people between Delhi and Karachi, the two capitals. Subsequently, Orient Airways transferred its base to Pakistan and established a vital link between Karachi and Dacca, the two capitals of the two wings of Pakistan. With a skeleton fleet of just two DC-3s, three crew members, and twelve mechanics, Orient Airways launched its scheduled operations in a fairy-tale manner. The initial routes were Karachi-Lahore-Peshawar, Karachi-Quetta-Lahore and Karachi-Delhi Calcutta-Dacca. By the end of 1949, Orient Airways had acquired 10 DC-3s and 3 Convair 240s which were operated on these routes. In 1950, it had become increasingly apparent that additional capacity would have to be inducted to cater to the growing needs of the sub-continent.
